  • Distributed Systems Lab — consensus, networking and large-scale data infrastructure.
  • Centre for Energy Materials — solar cells, batteries and electrocatalysis.
  • Sustainable Cities Group — urban modelling and low-carbon mobility.
  • Aldermere Observatory — optical astronomy and instrumentation.
  • FabLab & Digital Fabrication Studio — additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping.

Partnering with CUST

We collaborate with industry, government and non-profit partners on sponsored research, contract testing, and joint laboratories at the Northgate Technology Park. Our Office of Research Partnerships supports licensing, spin-outs and student-industry projects.

Research integrity

All research at CUST is conducted under the university’s code of research conduct, with independent ethics review for studies involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data. We support open access and responsible data stewardship.
